Our Equality and Diversity Statement
Granta celebrates diversity and promotes a culture where differences between people are respected and valued. We deal with people as individuals, whilst recognising that many people share common experiences based on their background.
Our success and growth has been a result of our ability to respond as a diverse organisation to the increasingly diverse needs of the people we work with.
We have two Board Members Diversity Champions:
Granta has adopted the Metropolitan Housing Partnership Diversity Strategy. The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for this Strategy and its delivery through an action plan towards promoting and monitoring best practice in relation to diversity.
We recognise that all relevant stakeholders should have the opportunity to shape and develop the diversity agenda. Currently we have two main forums towards this:
- Equality & Diversity Panel: tenant membership
- Promoting Diversity Steering Group: includes staff representatives
Granta also works in partnership with a number of agencies towards diversity and is pleased to be represented on the following Steering Groups:
- National Housing Federation Eastern Region BME Contactors' project in partnership with EDGE (Equality & Diversity Group for the Eastern region) and
- EDGE Forward mentoring scheme.
