iN Business for Neighbourhoods
Granta Housing Society is committed to supporting the "iN Business" approach promoted by the National Housing Federation to demonstrate and promote excellence in the affordable housing sector. Housing associations are concerned not only with houses but neighbourhoods and communities, investing in creating places where people want to live. Associations provide a range of services as well as homes and whilst associations are independent of the public sector we work with other partner agencies to service local communities and deliver results. Associations Support the NHF "iN Business" campaign are initially asked to make a number of commitments: Commitment to neighbourhoods - To put neighbourhoods at the heart of everything we do.
- To promote neighbourhoods where there is a place for everyone, with positive support for diversity of people and places.
- To work in partnership with local people, councils and other agencies, and champion local needs.
- To be open and explicit about our role in neighbourhoods where we work, and about the time and money invested in them.
Commitment to customers - To listen to residents, respond to their views and engage them in our work at all levels.
- To offer them respect, choice and support.
- To do everything we can to prevent neighbourhood problems, and deal firmly with people who are bad neighbours.
Commitment to excellence - To pursue excellence and improvement.
- To make the changes needed, so our organisations can rise to the challenge of the campaign.
- To work with regulators and inspectors to build a culture of challenge and change.
- To aim to be landlords, employers and partners of choice.
