Getting Housed
Granta Housing Society does not hold a waiting list for accommodation. You should first apply to your Local Authority, who will assess your housing need and will put you into a band depending on how urgent your housing need is. Those with a higher housing need will be put into a higher priority band. Different local authorities will operate different Choice-Based Lettings Schemes, a system where those that are registered for housing can place "bids" on properties which are available. The properties are then generally allocated to the bidder who has been in the highest band for the longest amount of time.
For a list of Local Authorities (and their contact information) where Granta has accommodation, please see applying for housing. Or, click here for more information on Choice-Based lettings.
If you are already a council or housing association tenant, it may be possible to move via Mutual Exchange.
